![]() Chapter 11
![]() Luis quickly regained control of the situation and pushed Beth off his lap, got up and moved away from her. Sheridan stood there, a single tear falling down her cheek as she tried to comprehend the situation. She was pretty sure Luis hadn't initiated this, but it was hard to be sure, yet.
“Don't be like that, Luis” Beth smiled seductively. She made a move towards him again, but Luis held his arm in front of him, holding her at bay.
“Beth, I didn't want you to find out this way, but I'm engaged, so please, don't do this.”
Beth feigned surprise. “Engaged?” She asked innocently, showing her hurt. Beth caught Sheridan standing by the front door out of the corner of her eye and knew Luis hadn't seen her yet, as he had his back turned towards her “Luis, it's only been a few months since we broke up. What, is this some sort of rebound thing? Luis, I'm sure you could have had your choice of any number of bimbos to sleep with you, you don't have to marry them. Besides, do you really think she's as good in bed as I am?”
“Beth” Luis said regaining his composure. “This is not a rebound thing, she is NOT a bimbo, you and I are over and my sex life is none of your business. Have I made myself clear?”
Sheridan had heard enough of this conversation. “Luis?” She said weakly.
Luis whipped around. He saw Sheridan standing there and the smug look on Beth's face and knew that Beth's remarks had been meant to hurt Sheridan. His mother was right. She knew, or Hank told her. Somehow he expected Hank to come walking into the station any minute.
“Sheridan!” Luis exclaimed, quickly finding his way to his fiancée's side. “I am so glad you came home early.” Luis pulled Sheridan into a tight embrace which she gratefully accepted. “Why didn't you tell me you were coming back early?”
“I wanted to surprise you” Sheridan said. “I stopped by and picked up some food and thought we could have a late dinner together, if you aren't too busy that is.” Sheridan gave Beth an icy glare as she made her last comment.
“No, it's quiet here so far tonight” Luis said. “And Beth was just leaving. Weren't you Beth?”
“You poor, poor deluded man” Beth laughed slightly, walking back over to Luis and rubbing his arm affectionately. She then looked at Sheridan, whom Luis was holding protectively. “You really have done a good job of snowing Luis. I never would have believed Luis Lopez Fitzgerald sleeping with the enemy. It must be the promise of all that Crane money, Luis, because I know she can't please you the way I can.”
Beth could see she'd struck a nerve with Luis, so she continued. “If your father only knew you were bedding a member of the family responsible for his disappearance. I never thought you were the type that could be bought Luis. I guess I was wrong.”
Luis was about to lose his temper, having had enough of this, but Sheridan silenced him. She had enough of this and she was going to put a stop to it right now.
Sheridan stood forward and faced Beth head on. “Look, Beth is it? You need to take you accusations and leave. You obviously don't know Luis very well or you would never have accused him of such things. Luis hasn't taken one cent of Crane money and never will for that matter. He doesn't care about it. He's also a big enough man to realize that no matter what happened to his father, I was not the one responsible for his disappearance. So I suggest you get your facts straight before you start accusing people.”
“Beth, I want you to leave now” Luis said. “What we had is over and I've chosen to get on with my life. I hope you can do the same.”
`In a pig's eye it's over, Luis' Beth thought to herself. “All right. I'll leave.” `But I'll be back. You can count on that.'
“Good night Luis” Beth said, totally ignoring Sheridan.
“Good-bye Beth” Luis responded, turning away.
Beth left, but not before she gave Luis one last kiss, just for Sheridan's benefit. She chuckled to herself when she saw Sheridan look away, doubt written all over her face. As far as Beth was concerned, this was only the beginning.
*********************
“Maybe this wasn't a good idea” Sheridan said after a moment's silence. “Coming here tonight. I should have called.”
“No, Sheridan, don't think like that” Luis said, taking her hands in his. “I'm glad you came tonight. I'm just sorry you had to witness all of this. I had no idea Beth was back in town. I have no idea what's up with her either. I thought she was past this.”
“Apparently she isn't over you yet, Luis” Sheridan said coolly.
“We had this discussion this summer. I thought we'd gotten through all of this.”
“Luis, she tried to run you down this summer, or have you forgotten about that?” Sheridan said.
“She didn't mean to do it” Luis said, remembering his conversation with Beth after she'd been arrested for reckless driving with intent to harm. She said she was so distraught over our breakup, she wasn't paying any attention to where she was going.”
“Regardless of what she said this summer” Sheridan said, her voice filled with doubt, “That woman is out to get you back.”
“Well, she's not going to get me back, Sheridan” Luis said, trying to reassure her.
Sheridan didn't know what to think at the moment. She believed Luis loved her, but she also knew he hadn't been the one to break things off… Beth had. And she wondered if maybe a small part of him might want her back.
“You know what?” Sheridan said, feigning a small smile. “All of a sudden I'm really tired. I think I'm going home and going to bed. It's been a long day.”
“But what about the late dinner you wanted to have?” Luis asked disappointedly.
“I'm really not hungry anymore” she said handing Luis the bag of food. “You can eat it later.”
With that, Sheridan kissed Luis on the cheek and retreated from the police station before Luis had a chance to stop her. She didn't want him to see the tears forming in her eyes.
Luis watched her race out of there, his heart heavy, wondering what he could do to prove to Sheridan once and for all that she is the only woman he wanted in his life. He turned back to his desk and smiled when an idea came to him.
“It might just work” he said to himself. “At least I hope it does.”
********************
Sheridan closed her eyes and let the warm stream of water cascade over her body, trying to forget the scene she walked in on at the police station earlier, but it didn't work. Eyes opened, eyes closed the same image appeared every time. An image of Beth sitting very comfortably in Luis' lap, kissing him passionately.
Sheridan tried hard to focus on Luis' assurance he loved her, but it was difficult. “Jay” she muttered. “I need to talk to Jay.”
She quickly turned the water off and climbed out of the shower, intent on emailing Jay to see if by any chance she was home this evening. Once she was dressed, she sat down at her computer intent on emailing her friend, when she saw she already had a note from her, written not too long ago from what she could tell. She quickly clicked on the email to see what she had to say.
Hi Sheridan,
How's the dress hunting going? I bet you've already found the perfect dress, haven't you? You know, the kind of dress that will blow Luis away when he sees you in it. That shouldn't be too hard to find - LOL - I've seen the way Luis looks at you and you already take his breath away on a regular basis. I've never seen Luis look at any woman the way he looks at you. There is not feeling that is quite like it, the feeling you get when a man you care about is staring at you with that look in his eyes.
“Hmm” Sheridan said to herself, a slight grin playing on the corners of her mouth. “What is up with Jay? She never talks like this.”
Right about now, you're probably wondering what is going on with Jay, am I right?
Sheridan laughed. “You're right as usual Jay. I hope you plan on telling me.”
I think I told you about the UCLA football game that I was going to, didn't I? The once-a-year game that most of the department goes to together? Well the game was today and when I arrived at the stadium, I got a very pleasant surprise. One of the guys had invited Scott.
Sheridan's smile widened. “Oh really? This sounds like it's going to be interesting.”
Oh Sheridan, this has been the most amazing day! All day long, neither of us seemed to be able to stay very far away from the other. We even ended up sitting next to each other for the game. Twice, incidents happened and we were in very close physical contact. Once, I even ended up in his arms and I felt like I wanted to stay there forever. I've never had this kind of connection with a man before. No guy has ever made me feel this way!
“All right Jay” Sheridan smirked, “I know there's more to this than you're telling me. Out with it.”
At the end of the day, Stan thought he was conning me by asking me if I'd mind helping Scott clean up. (Scott brought the satellite dish and TV so he was the last one to leave.) I didn't tell Stan, but I was quite happy to stay with Scott and spend as much time with him as I could. After everyone from our group had left and we'd packed up everything, Scott said there was something else we had to do ..... and then ..... He kissed me!!! Sheridan, the kiss was sweet and innocent and passionate all at the same time. I wish I could describe in words how I felt at the time or how I feel now, but I can't find the words. I keep trying to slow myself down, my logical brain keeps trying to remind me that this is moving too fast and to be careful, but there is something that happens with Scott. There's a connection and it goes beyond just physical attraction. It's a feeling and it feels so right that I keep getting overwhelmed.
“I am so happy for you Jay!” Sheridan exclaimed. Sheridan had been hoping things would work out for Jay with Scott. She couldn't think of anyone she'd rather see find the right person. Jay deserved happiness in her life and it looked like she was finally about to have it.
I tried to call you earlier, but I guess you're still on your shopping trip. I should have thought about that, but I was on such a high that I wanted to share it with you. If you get home before Monday, call me. I have the rest of the weekend off, can you believe it? I bet this is the only weekend off I get before your wedding. I'll be home some time on Sunday, but I'm not sure when. Scott is taking me out tomorrow, but I don't have the details yet on when and for how long.
Love to you and Luis,
Jay
P.S. UCLA won the FB game in the last 5 seconds! It was one of the best games I've ever seen!
Sheridan shook her head laughing. She could definitely relate to exactly how Jay was feeling because that is exactly how she felt about Luis. She glanced at her watch and saw it was 1:00am ET so she picked up the telephone and dialed Jay's number.
“Hello” Jay said, answering the phone.
“Jay! It's Sheridan. I just read your email. I am so happy for you!”
“Thanks” Jay said. She had a permanent grin tattooed on her face. Nothing could bring her down from her high tonight.
“I had a feeling things were going to work out for the two of you” Sheridan said.
“Well, I didn't want to believe it for the longest time, but things are definitely looking up” Jay said. “At least I know he has some feelings for me.”
“Yeah, a kiss is usually a good indication” Sheridan laughed. “And you have a date for tomorrow? That's fantastic!”
“Actually, tomorrow is out first real date” Jay grinned. “Our meeting at the football game was pure chance and our impromptu dinner last week wasn't really a date.”
“Going to the zoo is really a unique idea. It sounds like something Luis would do” Sheridan grinned.
“It does kind of” Jay chuckled.. “The zoo we're going to is in San Diego.”
“San Diego?” Sheridan repeated. “That's a pretty big zoo, but so far away” Sheridan said in surprise.
“It's about two and a half hours from here” Jay said. “He's going to show me his other store and the site of the new store he's planning on opening.”
“Sounds serious if he wants to show you his other stores” Sheridan remarked.
“I don't know about serious yet” Jay answered, “but it's definitely the most serious I've been in quite some time.”
Jay talked some more about Scott, bringing Sheridan completely up to speed. She then asked Sheridan about Luis and that is when the reality of tonight came back and slapped Sheridan in the face.
“Luis is fine” Sheridan said, trying to hide the pain in her voice.
Jay said nothing for a moment. She could tell by the sound of Sheridan's voice that Luis wasn't fine or that things between Sheridan and Luis weren't fine. “What's wrong Sheridan?” Jay asked. “And don't tell me nothing's wrong. I can hear it in your voice that something is definitely bothering you.”
Sheridan sighed. “Beth's back in Harmony” she said simply.
Jay groaned loudly. She'd never made it a secret that she didn't think Beth and Luis were right for each other and for that reason Beth hated her with a passion. Jay was also very unimpressed with Beth's display the last time she returned to Harmony. “I take it by the tone of your voice that she wants Luis back again?”
Sheridan laughed. “You could say that. I came back early and decided to surprise Luis at the station tonight with a late dinner and when I walked in, Beth was very cozily sitting in Luis' lap and the two of them were kissing passionately.”
“Luis was kissing Beth?” Jay asked in shock. She never would have believed Luis would do that to Sheridan. The more she thought about it, the more she knew Luis wouldn't do that to Sheridan. “Are you sure it wasn't the other way around? Like maybe Beth was the one doing the kissing?”
“Well, Luis did eventually get up and move away from her.”
Jay exhaled the breath she was holding. She had a good idea she knew what was going on here. “Sheridan, I am just willing to bet that Beth found out about your engagement and came back to try to reclaim Luis.”
“How on earth could she have found out about our engagement?” Sheridan asked. “It's not like we've had an announcement yet in the newspapers.”
“You've told people, haven't you?” Jay asked.
“Well, yes of course we have.”
“Sam knows?”
“Yes, he's in the wedding party.”
“Well, it's possible that Sam told Hank and Hank told Beth” Jay suggested.
“Hank?” Sheridan asked, but it was more like a statement than a question.
“Hank is Sam's brother and he's also pretty good friends with Beth” Jay explained. “As a matter of fact, he helped Beth move to New York and as far as I know he's still there. He always was a bit of a wanderer. One never knows when and where Hank Bennett will pop up.”
“Uh, I actually met Hank Bennett last night and this morning” Sheridan confessed. “It seems as though he's been working as a waiter. He was ours last night and I ran into him again this morning in a small café. I think he was trying to pick me up and that's when I told him I was engaged.”
Jay shook her head. “I'll bet anything that's how she found out. Did you tell him you were engaged to Luis?” She already knew the answer, but wanted Sheridan to confirm it for her.
“Yes, I did. When we found out we were both from Harmony we started talking.”
“Sheridan, look” Jay said as she digested all the information. “Regardless of what Beth does, or should I say tries to do, Luis loves YOU. I'm not just saying this because I think you and Luis make a better couple, which you know I do, but because I know Luis. I know the man is absolutely head over heels madly in love with you. He never had those feelings towards Beth, because if he did, he would have married her long ago. I've known Luis wasn't in love with Beth much longer than he'll even admit. I think Luis still has feelings for her, as a friend but that's it. And after what she pulled this summer and again tonight, I wouldn't even be too sure about that right now.”
Sheridan chuckled slightly. “You're probably right” she said. “It was just when I walked into the station and found them in that position…”
“I understand how that must have felt” Jay said. “But Sheridan, I have total faith in Luis and you should too. He's not about to destroy what the two of you have.”
Sheridan trusted Luis. She knew he loved her, but there was one thing she was worried about and she didn't quite know how to approach the subject with Jay.
“Jay, I know Luis loves me. He's shown me more love in the short time I've known him than any other person in my life” Sheridan began cautiously. “And I love him more than I ever imagined possible.”
“I sense a but coming” Jay retorted.
“But, Luis and I haven't… What I mean to say is that I'm sure he and Beth… What if Luis…”
“Sheridan, are you trying to tell me that you and Luis haven't slept together yet?”
Sheridan was glad she and Jay were on the phone and she couldn't see her blush. “Yes. We decided to wait until we got married.”
Jay smiled. “You know what? I think this is a conversation you and Luis need to be having.”
“You're probably right” Sheridan said. Despite everything, Sheridan was feeling much better about things. “Thank you for listening to me Jay. I think I'll email Luis and ask him to stop by when he gets off work so we can talk.”
“Good idea” Jay agreed.
“And you have a good time tomorrow with Scott” Sheridan said grinning impishly. “I want to hear all the details.”
“I'll let you know how it goes” Jay grinned. Just hearing Scott's name mentioned caused Jay's heart to skip a beat. “And you let me know how things work out with you and Luis. Once you talk to him, he'll be able to reassure you that you are the only woman he wants or loves."
“I know you're right Jay” Sheridan smiled. “Already I'm beginning to see how silly I've been.”
“Good” Jay said. “But Sheridan there's one more thing I think you should keep in mind and that is Beth may not be finished. She might try something else.”
Sheridan frowned. “Believe me, I've thought about it. I've been thinking about it for hours now.”
“Well just so long as you remember that Beth is the one initiating things and Luis loves YOU!”
“Thanks Jay” Sheridan said. “I'll keep that in mind. ”Thank you for everything Jay.”
“You're welcome” Jay said.
“Good night Jay.”
“Night Sheridan.”
Jay hung the phone up and shook her head, sighing heavily. “Leave it to Beth” she said. Jay had no doubt in Luis' love for Sheridan, but she also knew that Beth would do what she could to drive a wedge between Luis and Sheridan just out of spite. She hoped neither of them would allow that to happen.
Jay yawned and looked at her watch, realizing it was time for bed. She decided to end a quick note to Luis first, with a reminder that Beth might not be through with whatever plan she'd cooked up and just as she finished writing it, she noticed she had an incoming email. A huge grin formed on her face when she saw it was from Scott.
Hi Detective,
I was just heading to bed and I couldn't help myself, I had to send you a note and tell you one more time, what a wonderful day I had today. I hoped when Stan asked me that you would be there and wasn't disappointed. I enjoyed every minute I spent with you today and can't wait to spend tomorrow with you as well.
Remind me later to thank Stan not only for inviting me, but for asking you to help me clean up. The memory of our kiss is still etched in my mind and I look forward to another one very soon.
I'm counting the hours until I see you tomorrow :)
Scott
Jay beamed. She sighed happily and sent him a quick note in response. She then shut down her computer and went to bed, knowing she'd have pleasant dreams tonight.
********************
Sheridan flopped on her couch after her call to Jay and closed her eyes. She was exhausted after the long day she'd had shopping and then coming home to find Luis in that very compromising position with his ex-girlfriend. As tired as she was, Sheridan had an overwhelming urge to send Luis an email telling him she loved him and believed he had no part in the little escapade she witnessed earlier.
She wearily pulled herself off the couch and walked over to her computer to send Luis an email. Once in her account, she saw Luis had sent her a note already. She quickly clicked on it.
My dearest KCGirl,
I've had a really bad night at work so far Angel and I thought to myself that there is only ONE person I can tell this to that will understand completely and that is you. You and I saw each other through our breakups with our exes and for that reason I know you will understand the problem I am having right now.
I remember as if it were yesterday the pain you went through when you found out JL was already married. My heart ached for you at the time and I barely knew you then. I shared with you my then recent experience of my girlfriend of 10 years leaving me, though the circumstances were different.
I only told you part of what I was feeling at the time. I told you the parts I thought might help you deal with your experience with your ex-fiancé. What I don't think I told you, was the first and strongest reaction I had was relief. I was free! At one time I know I loved Beth, but I also knew that it wasn't the kind of love two people share that want to spend the rest of their lives together.
I know some of this may be hard for you to hear, but you have to understand completely, so please bear with me. The love Beth and I had was that of friendship (at one time) and familiarity. We knew the same people, had similar backgrounds. BUT, and this is a big BUT, I was never IN LOVE with Beth. For that matter, I don't think she was ever in love with me either. With all we had in common, we were two very different people who wanted something completely different out of life.
Angel, Love is not about how many friends you have in common, or what a great couple others think you make. Love is about the way your heart does flip flops when that special someone walks into a room. It's about the breath that you can't seem to catch when that person smiles at you or the electric charge that surges through you when you hold hands. Love is the way the other person makes you feel when they just sit there and listen to you after a bad day, the way they hold you in their arms and comfort you when your feeling sad and the feeling that your heart is about to burst when they kiss you and say those three little words, I Love You.
There is only one person that makes me feel that way, that ever made me feel that way. You, Sheridan. My Angel.
I hope this isn't too silly for you, but it comes from the bottom of my heart. I love you with every ounce of my being. No one will ever make me feel the same way, only you. What I'm trying to say, is you have nothing to fear from Beth. She can try all she wants, but it's you I want Angel. My one true love. The woman I want to wake up to every morning and hold in my arms before I go to sleep~~ Every day for the rest of our lives.
All my love now and forever,
Pezz
Sheridan felt the tears streaming down her face as she finished Luis' heartfelt letter. She placed her finger over her computer screen and smiled, her heart bursting with more love for this man now than ever before. Sheridan quickly printed up the letter, grabbed her purse and ran towards the cottage door. She had an overwhelming urge to see Luis right now.
******************
Luis sighed as he checked his email for the tenth time in as many minutes hoping to have some kind of response from Sheridan. As it had been the previous nine times, there was nothing there. Then only email he'd received all night had been one from Jay about thirty minutes earlier. He shook his head as he remembered his friend's warning.
Hi Luis,
Hey pal! I had an interesting chat with Sheridan not too long ago and she tells me that Beth is back in town. I'm sorry to hear that Luis. I thought you made it perfectly clear to her last summer that it was over between the two of you, but I guess not.
I think Sheridan will be okay for now Luis and I warned her that this might not be over. Since Beth made such a big play for you tonight and she obviously dislikes Sheridan, please watch your back. I know you wouldn't do anything to hurt Sheridan, but Beth might. I don't want to see anyone destroy the love you and Sheridan share.
It's late and I'm off to bed. Take care and keep me abreast.
Jay
Luis was lost in thought when he heard the front door to the stationhouse open. He glanced at the door, slightly dazed and immediately his palms became sweaty and his heart started pounding wildly.
“Sheridan” He said barely above a whisper. Luis stood up and walked towards her.
Sheridan gazed lovingly into Luis' eyes, her own eyes still moist and smiled a smile of pure adoration. “I love you Luis Lopez Fitzgerald” she choked out.
A wave of relief spread through him and he smiled his brightest smile as he engulfed the woman of his dreams in his arms. He inhaled her perfume and thought he'd about go insane with the love he felt in his heart. “Sheridan, I love you more than I ever believed possible” he whispered into her ear. Luis pulled back and held her face gently in his hands, caressing her soft skin with his fingertips. Sheridan leaned into his touch, kissing the palm of his hand.
“I'm going to make a promise to you right now Angel” Luis said sincerely. “Beth WILL NOT come between us. No one will. I love you, Sheridan Crane. You are the woman I intend to marry, very soon in fact and you are the woman who will be the mother of my children.”
“You have to be the most loving man on the planet” Sheridan said. “I thank God every day for bringing you into my life.”
Luis didn't waste another second. He lowered his head and captured Sheridan's soft lips in a searing kiss. Sheridan immediately responded to him, wrapping her arms around his neck, pulling him as close to her as she could. Within seconds, Luis deepened their kiss causing Sheridan to moan with pleasure.
Luis groaned when he heard the phone ringing in the background. Breathlessly he pulled away. “I have to get that” he whispered.
“I know” Sheridan replied, a sweet smile on her face.
“Don't go away” he requested, walking backwards towards the phone, not wanting to take his eyes off Sheridan for a minute.
“I'm staying right here” Sheridan grinned. “I decided I'm hungry after all.”
Luis chuckled and picked up the phone.
“Harmony PD” he said, his eyes still locked with Sheridan's. “Officer Lopez Fitzgerald.”
“No Ma'am, this isn't Harmony House of Pizza” Luis grinned. He then hung up the phone and shrugged his shoulders. “See what I have to contend with working the grave yard shift?” He joked.
Sheridan laughed. “I can see you are definitely overworked.” She opened her arms to welcome Luis back into her embrace when he began walking towards her.
Luis gladly embraced Sheridan and held her tightly to him. “Now, didn't you say something about eating? Suddenly I'm starving.”
Sheridan and Luis shared a pleasant dinner of Chinese food as well as one of Pilar's homemade dishes. They chatted endlessly about Sheridan's shopping excursion, but there was still something weighing on Sheridan's mind and Luis could sense it.
“Sheridan, is there something you want to talk to me about?” Luis asked, his hazel eyes gazing into hers with love and concern.
Sheridan blushed slightly, remembering her chat with Jay and desperately wanting to talk to Luis about it, but not here and not now. “Actually Luis, there is something I want to talk to you about, but not tonight. Can you stop by the cottage on your way home in the morning?” She asked hopefully. “I really don't want to talk about this here.”
Luis wriggled his eyebrows suggestively, which elicited a deeper blush from Sheridan. “I'd love to, sweetie, but won't Marianna be there?”
“Actually, Marianna went to visit your Aunt Maria for the next few weeks. She's going to meet me in Boston for my dress fitting in a few weeks and come back to Harmony then.”
“You know, I was supposed to work till 3, but Sam told me he'd cover me in the morning if I wanted since I was good enough to cover the night shift.”
Sheridan suddenly felt guilty about her one lingering insecurity, knowing it could take some overtime away from Luis. “There's no urgency in the matter, Luis” Sheridan assured him. “I'll be home all day.”
“Hey, listen to me” Luis said, taking her hands in his. “The main reason I took the overtime was because you were out of town. It's much more important for me to spend time with you than to work double shifts day in and day out.”
“Are you sure Luis?” Sheridan asked, still not wanting to interfere with his work schedule.
“I'm positive” Luis said with conviction. “Nothing is more important to me than you are.”
Sheridan smiled amorously at him. She then reached into her purse and pulled out a key. “If I'm asleep, just let yourself in” she said with a small smile.
“Are you sure about this?” Luis asked with a raised brow.
“I'm sure” Sheridan said, her eyes locked with his. Sheridan knew Luis was wondering just what was going on in her head right now, but didn't want to start this conversation here.
“Well, I think I'm going to go home and go to bed” Sheridan said, stifling a yawn. Once again, the days events had caught up with her. She knew now, sleep would come with nothing but pleasant dreams.
Luis walked Sheridan to her car and held the door open for her. “Thanks” she smiled at him, turning to face him. She leaned in and lifted her head so her lips met with Luis'. She's only intended this to be a quick kiss good-bye, but the minute she tasted Luis' mouth, she couldn't tear herself away. Quickly she wrapped her arms around Luis' neck and intensified the kiss, pulling him close to her.
Luis groaned as Sheridan began stirring feelings deep within him, feelings he knew he could do nothing about, especially while he was at work. “Whoa, Sheridan” Luis chuckled, as he came up for air. “That was some kiss.”
“It was, wasn't it?” Sheridan laughed. “Sorry about that. I guess I got carried away. It's just that I`m going to miss you tonight.”
Luis cocked his head and eyed her with curiosity. “I'll miss you too Angel” he said. “And I promise you I'll be there as soon as I can in the morning.”
“Good” Sheridan smiled. She caressed Luis' face with her hand and then retreated to her car. “Good night.”
Luis stood there and watched as Sheridan pulled out of the parking lot. Something was going on with her and he was definitely planning on finding out what.
